REO UW GIS Database

Description: 
The Wyoming Geographic Information Science Center (WyGISC) is working with University of Wyoming’s Division of Administration Real Estate Operations Unit (REO). In this partnership WyGISC is charged with creating a GIS for the REO that will spatial enable their current property holdings and provide for the maintenance and tracking of land records. The GIS will assist in more effectively managing UW real estate data and communicating UW real estate issues. Additionally, base layers developed in this effort will eventually be used as part of a campus wide System. A pilot study was conducted to aid in developing the geodatabase structure and help outline planning and implementation steps to facilitate full integration and use of GIS data within REO. WyGISC is also developing a suit of tools to automate tasks carried out by REO. Future work will include the development of an Internet application tailored for use by UW officials and trustees.
