GPS Equipment Rentals
WyGISC offers GPS hardware and software rentals to University of Wyoming
researchers, educators, and students. Choose from the equipment listed below.
Available GPS Equipment
The Wyoming GIS Center has the following
Trimble Navigation Ltd. GPS hardware/software available for research and training.
GPS User Fees
The University of Wyoming is responsible for all maintenance costs
associated with the equipment on loan from Trimble Navigation,
Ltd. Therefore, it is necessary to charge a "user fee"
on all GPS hardware and software used by University personnel.
The money generated from user fees will go towards hardware/software/firmware
maintenance and continued technical support service with Trimble. The
money generated from the user fee will also help replace used batteries
for the GPS equipment!
If a student is collecting GPS data for an un- or under-funded
project, they will be able to use a GPS unit for two weeks free of
charge. In order to receive the two free weeks, the student must
fill out a form that is signed by their advisor. Following those
two weeks, user fees will be the same as listed below.

*Faculty and Student Rate
Use of the Pathfinder Office software for mission planning and
post processing of GPS data is free of charge. However, the software will only be
made available at the GPS Training Center. For more information on
access to the GPS Training Center GPS equipment available for
