Administration for SQL Server - Offered by ESRI
SQL Server® database administrators: prepare for
implementing ArcSDE by building your own individual ArcSDE
server. This course teaches how to configure SQL Server to
support ArcSDE, install and configure ArcSDE, load vector
and raster data, monitor and optimize queries, and manage a
multiversioned geodatabase. Participants learn to monitor

specific to Wyoming is used as an example throughout the

Building Geodatabases -
Offered by ESRI
This course provides an overview of
the structure and capabilities of the geodatabase. Students
learn how to create a geodatabase, migrate existing GIS data
to a geodatabase, and edit and maintain data stored in a
geodatabase. The course covers some advanced geodatabase
topics including how to build a geodatabase topology;
maintain data integrity using subtypes, attribute domains,
and relationship classes; and create a geodatabase schema.
In course exercises, students work with
the file geodatabase and learn how to migrate personal
geodatabase data to a file geodatabase and create various
geodatabase components.

Introduction

Introduction to Programming ArcObjects with
VBA
ArcObjects components are the building blocks
of ArcGIS software. To support or automate organizational
work flow tasks, ArcObjects can be used to extend core
ArcGIS functionality and create custom applications. This
course provides a foundation for application development
using VBA and ArcObjects. In course exercises, participants
create usable ArcObjects code for typical GIS programming
tasks. Participants work with VBA development tools and the

Advanced Analysis Using ArcGIS
- Offered by ESRI
ArcGIS 9 software provides many tools for solving complex
spatial problems. This course, created for the experienced
ArcGIS user, examines modeling techniques used in spatial
analysis and introduces processes and tools that can be used
to perform a variety of GIS analysis tasks. The ArcGIS
geoprocessing framework, specifically ArcToolbox,
ModelBuilder, and the command line is emphasized.
Project-based exercises draw from a range of interesting
real-world GIS applications. The course concludes with an
exciting final project in which participants are challenged
to implement many of the tools taught throughout the course.

Introduction to ArcGIS II

Introduction to Geoprocessing
Scripts Using Python - Offered by ESRI
One of the aspects of the ArcGIS 9 geoprocessing
framework is the scripting environment. In this two-day
class, students will learn about the Python scripting
language and how it can be used to access the geoprocessing
functionality in ArcGIS 9. Participants begin the course by
understanding Python scripting syntax; progress to writing
scripts for geoprocessing operations; and finish by
incorporating Python scripts as tools in ArcToolbox.
Scripting is easy to learn, so introductory-level

Working with ArcGIS Spatial Analyst

This course teaches basic raster concepts and shows how to

Introduction to the Multiuser
Geodatabase - Offered by ESRI
A multiuser geodatabase uses the ArcSDE software and a
database management system (DBMS) to store large amounts of
GIS data that many users may concurrently access. This
course, designed for the end user of a multiuser
geodatabase, bridges the gap between the ArcSDE
administrator and the GIS professional. Participants learn
to leverage the powerful capabilities offered by the
multiuser geodatabase. The course focus is on how to apply
ArcGIS skills in a multiuser environment, and how this
environment differs from that of a personal geodatabase. The
course discusses geodatabase behavior in the context of a
versioned environment, fundamental versioning workflow
procedures, and client-side performance considerations. This
course does not focus on a specific supported DBMS. This
course is designed for experienced ArcGIS users who are
familiar with the geodatabase data model and are migrating
from the personal geodatabase to a multiuser geodatabase

Introduction to GPS I
This 2-day course will provide an introduction on the use of
recreational grade GPS receivers for collecting spatial
data. This course will introduce the students to the breadth
of current GPS uses, the various components of GPS
technology, and how to use GPS technology in the field.
Through a combination of classroom and field exercises
students will be trained on mission planning, data
collection and export to a GIS (such as ESRI's ArcGIS). GPS
receivers will be provided for use in the class. Important

Scenario 360 and SiteBuilder 3D
This two-and-a-half day course offers an in-depth
exploration of CommunityViz's two integrated extensions to
ESRI’s ArcMap GIS: Scenario 360 and Sitebuilder 3D.
CommunityViz encourages participation, collaboration and
analysis by engaging users and public audiences with
scenario based planning and impact assessment coupled with
compelling 3D visualizations.
Scenario 360 can be though of broadly as a “spatial
spreadsheet” which performs numerical computations on
geographic data in much the same way as a spreadsheet works
with numbers. It provides functionality for assessing the
potential impacts of proposed land use actions by monitoring
change in a series of indicators. Scenario 360 allows you to
experiment with hypothetical scenarios, challenge
assumptions on the fly, and view impacts of changes.
Proposals, assumptions and impacts can be viewed side by
side to illustrate projected impacts of policy alternatives.
Sitebuilder 3D allows for 3-dimensional display of
landscape and structure information with real-time movement
and object manipulation in a photo-realistic setting. 3D
scenes can be easily shared in a portable format that can be
used on other computers, thus allowing friends and
colleagues the ability to digitally fly through and explore
your scenes at no charge and without installing any special
software.
