Prairie to
Mountain Explorer™ (PTME) Online – An Internet mapping application
displaying Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data
specifically designed for use in the classroom. Data
have been assembled for ID, MT, ND, SD, and WY for such
themes as: bedrock geology, roads, boundaries, cities,
demographics, climate, land cover, land ownership,
species occurrences or habitats, rivers, watersheds and
elevation. This viewer supports the OpenGIS Consortium
Web Mapping Specifications (WMS). Digital maps are
generated from a combination of user-selected data
providers at both the state and federal level.
